Before the kids started researching everything we will experience in Washington D.C., the most exciting part of the trip for them was the airplane ride and staying in a hotel! Now, they have a long list of things they can't wait to see! Staying in a hotel has gone from the very top of the "what we are excited about" list, to the bottom. Little do they know, this will definitely be the coolest hotel they have ever stayed in - by far! And who am I kidding... after reading all about it and seeing the pictures, I am so excited about the hotel that it makes me giddy just thinking about it!

The Embassy Suites hotel, part of the Chevy Chase Pavillion megaplex, is conveniently located in Friendship Heights, a small suburb in northwest Washington D.C. It is twenty-three miles from Dulles International Airport and only six miles from the White House. All of the historical attractions and monuments are only minutes away!

Chevy Chase Pavillion is one of the area's upscale shopping malls. There are many department stores, as well as numerous boutiques, day spas, a multiplex cinema and other services. I think it will be quite different than anything like it that we have ever been to. How exciting!

There is a long list of wonderful amenities at the Embassy Suites, but we will for sure benefit mostly from 1) the breakfast buffet every morning and 2) the swimming pool every evening - the kids can't wait for that! And I'm thinking the "spa tub" will benefit my feet after all of the walking we'll be doing!
.
.
And here is our favorite part... The Metro Station, which we will be using daily, is inside our hotel - Yes! Because of my tendinitis in my hips, that is music to my ears! Besides that, it's just super cool!
 .
.
I learned that Friendship Heights is an island platformed Washington Metro station straddling the border of Washington, D.C. and Montgomery County, Maryland. The station was opened on August 25, 1984, and is operated by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA). Providing service for the Red Line, the station is at the 5400 block of Wisconsin Avenue, Northwest and serves the neighborhoods of Chevy Chase and Friendship Heights.

We are really looking forward to staying at the Embassy Suites. I believe it will help make our trip as wonderful as it can be. Every review I read of the hotel was positive. Most of them had many details, but this one is all I need, "Very family friendly. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. Location was excellent!"

Can't ask for more than that!
