I love seeing the kids show signs of excitement for our big adventure. Today they were incredibly anxious to know how much money we had to put toward their goal. All summer long, I would put any spare change (silver only) into a 2-gallon, plastic water jug, labled "Washington D.C. or Bust!" Periodically, Taylor or Aubrey would drop in a dollar bill from their stash; and Hannah or Jack would drop in quarter or two.
Keep in mind, however, that we have not officially begun fundraising. This was just an accumulation of pocket-change, a roll of quarters from the bank once-a-month, and a portion of the girl's babysitting money. And so it is, our official count to start off our blitz for D.C., $100.25!
I think Aubrey has assumed the role as Treasurer.
Ah man! You guys are rocking! Your trip is sounding so much fun!! Can't wait to check your blog again. It's great!!
