Are we missing anything?

  1. Hey Chip - Corey said that you might rethink Saturday itinerary. The Marine Corps museum is minimum of 1 hour drive from D.C. (we experience I-95 on a Saturday afternoon, stop and go for 3 hours is the norm!). He also said a minimum of 4 hours to get through the museum. Just a thought. Bode's

  2. Don't overlook a short walk over to the Old Post Office Pavilion for a ride to the bell tower and observation deck. Takes about 30 minutes, tops, a good view of the "triangle". Located not far from the Natural History Museum. The National Portrait Gallery is right by Ford's Theater, and also would be a relatively quick stop. We would've like to spend more time at the American History Museum over the Natural History (depending on your families interests), as it's more "pop" culture and history our relatively young kids have learned about (the Star Spangled Banner, Lincoln, First Ladies Dresses, etc...). Plus, we have a good Natural Science museum in MN to visit. That being said, you can't miss seeing the Hope Diamond and other gems (the whole geology exhibit is breathtaking). Seeing both of those museums in one day might be a little ambitious, in addition to the other things on your itinerary (they close at 7pm). Our kids actually really liked the Art Museums, and I especially like the Edvard Munch (Scream) exhibit. Just some thoughts, as it's still so fresh in my brain! Peace and Love! Steph

  3. We really liked seeing the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum near Dulles Airport. The Enola Gay is there, and a space shuttle and other 'too huge to put in the other museum' vehicles.
